Naming Edmonton: From Ada to Zoie
Before 1910, the Beacon Heights neighbourhood was an undeveloped tract of land northeast of the City of Edmonton. In 1913, along with land to the north and south, it was incorporated as part of the Village of Beverly. Beverly amalgamated with Edmonton in 1961. The origin of the Beacon Heights name is not recorded.
