Belgravia is named after a fashionable residential district of nineteenth-century London, England. Robert Tegler (1876-1921), who built the Tegler Building, put this neighbourhood on the real estate market around 1912. In the early 1900s, portions of this neighbourhood were called University Place and University Place Addition.
