Music teacher Victor Albert Beringer (1867-1966) was born in England and moved to Edmonton in 1900. He had received musical training at the Royal Academy of Music in London and studied in Germany under Franz Liszt for three years. He taught music in Edmonton from 1902 until his retirement in 1952.
